Grown out of a close relationship during their undergraduate studies, Lion is the hunter within both Matt Teismann and Charlie Vega. Even stronger though, it has become to represent what architecture is without the two partners at LIONarchitecture. Be it exploring the great symbiosis that the natural and the built share, or merely discussing the validity of a language of architecture which has persisted through time, LIONarchitecture is not a practice necessarily as much as it is a dialogue. LION explores and underscores architecture's existential role with humanity. We believe there is a disconnect that is currently plaguing our profession - one lacking an understanding and celebration of the human condition. We are removing the filters which are known as styles; we aim only to reveal what is just.

Matt Teismann: Matt Teismann is an American born architect, who received a Bachelors of Architecture from Kansas State University. Upon graduation, he finished construction of his first built work, Project Solar House. Matt has worked as a design architect, at Murray O'Laoire Architects in Ireland. After three years he returned to the United States to start LionArchitecture with Charles Vega. He has worked in New York, Ireland, and Cleveland, and has lectured in both the United States and Europe.
Charles Vega: Charles Vega, who received a Bachelors of Architecture from Kansas State University in 2007, has been living and working in his native city of Kansas City as a design architect since graduation. Charles has been an owner/partner of LionArchitecture since its inception.
